Practical Home Solar

Practical solar in your home starts small with items you want to keep you and your loved ones safe whether the power is on or not. My overall approach to solar energy is here.

Security

These solar motion lights are amazing, both in price and how much light they give off. I was very pleased with the sensitivity of the motion detector in them also, see what you think of them here.

The next security item for me is a charger for my cell phone (which was my TV, my communication with family and my contact with the world ... pretty critical. I also need a flashlight for the no power after dark occasions ans this item does both for me. Nothing like having a super bright light that keeps my phone charged and doesn't require batteries like this one.

Safety and beauty

The first item I installed in this are were my deck and path lights. Haven't done a video review on the path lights yet but my step lights review is here.

Hurricane prep and power bill reduction

The first item needed here is the super bright light that keeps my phone charged and doesn't require batteries like this one which I spoke about above.
The next is the panels used for my pool pump which will be now diverted to run a small stand alone A/C system in the master bedroom and a 12v refrigerator for food and drinks. I will also run my internet router and a smaller TV with a HD antennae to allow us to keep up with news in the area.
